River Station is located in downtown LA, between N. Main Street and N. Broadway Street and adjacent to the Los Angeles River (an area that is now home to the beautiful LA State Historic Park) This exciting new community occupies the former site of the 19th century Southern Pacific general shops, freight warehouse, rail yard, and depot known as River Station, and served as the rail hub for all of Southern California at that time. River Station operated from 1875 until 1904; and in the 20th century, Southern Pacific used the location as a rail yard.
River Station is an important transportation hub that has been connecting Angelenos for many generations. Wether by train, car, bicycle, or even by kayak....this is where LA comes together.
